I know the frustration of constantly questioning: is work ever going to feel right?
Women engineers and women scientists have a lot of shit to deal with!
Engineers and scientist design and make so much of what we interact with in the world.
Historically it’s been white men in these roles and many hate to share or give up that power, as with all the other places they are desperately clinging to.
The current environments and cultures where engineers work are sometimes unwelcoming and other times downright hostile towards women. There’s a lot of gas-lighting about that too.
Women engineers and women scientists have a lot of shit to deal with! Sometimes they burn out and leave the field, giving those a**holes exactly what they want.
I empower women engineers and women scientists to get more calm and confident and in control at their jobs.
We need to start taking up more space, and stop getting pushed to the margins.
The more comfortable we are in our engineering jobs, the more we’ll like them and the ripple effect is that more women will stay in these roles and then more girls and young women will choose these careers also.
Women are incredible, and we make incredible engineers. There needs to be more of us AND we deserve to be happier doing our jobs.
